Diesel Fuel Additives For Truckers

 Diesel Fuel Additives

As the price of diesel rises higher and higher above that $4.00 mark that had drivers everywhere sweating in early march, truckers and commuters alike have been looking for ways to get more miles to the gallon. For a few hundred dollars, websites offer bogus instructions about how to run your engine on water, tires are being inflated at a record rate, and fuel mileage has beat out safety as a primary reason for driving the speed limit. Some have turned to fuel additives to try to increase their miles per gallon. But though no additive can increase diesel mileage, according to truckinfo.net, there are plenty of other reasons for truckers to use diesel fuel additives.

Diesel refineries and distributors use fuel additives because each gallon of crude oil and refined diesel is very different, according to truckinfo.net. In order to achieve some consistency in the batch, these companies use additives. But refineries and distributors do not use all additives.

Different kinds of additives address different kinds of problems. For instance, Power Service manufactures several kinds of diesel additives. Additives for lower emissions, optimum engine performance and cleaning, ridding fuel of molds and fungi, and fuel flow. The company’s website provides links to products by use, so truckers can learn more about different additives and what they do.

According to truckinfo.net, truckers should also use commercial additives because the refining and distributing companies do not use a large enough quantity of additives. In order to have the best fuel, truckers need to add more additives themselves. Higher grade diesel fuels are pumped with more additives, but according to truckinfo.net, it is still cheaper to purchase bottled additives and mix them with the fuel yourself than buy premium diesel. With pain at the pump deeper than ever, many truckers who have been using premium diesel might see buying additives as a cost-saving option. In addition, truckers who mix the additives themselves are able to specifically target certain problems in their vehicles’ performance while premium grade gasoline just provides a general assortment of additives.

But for those who want to use additives to save cost, but want a generic cleaner, one of Power Service’s newer products might be the answer. Clear-diesel fuel and tank cleaner is an all-in-one cleaner that rids diesel of contaminants and water, promotes fuel flow, and prevents the problems of dirty fuel, like corrosion.

Diesel additives can be purchased at trucking accessory stores across the nation and on the internet. AMS Oil, a company who as been producing fuel additives for twenty-three years, offers catalogs to individuals and companies, and products can be purchased at wholesale prices for those who qualify.

Trucker Jim. I am currently working on a patent which may very well help truckers mpg. I cannot describe this idea till at least it makes a patent pending status. Once I have that sometime in June or early July further details can be explained. This invention may be ready to show as early as June 6th trade show in New York. It WILL be in Las Vegas in July. I will be at that time seeking rigs to be converted to get a true test on this invention. Sorry this is all can say at this time.
